TRAVELOGUE: İSTANBUL- BEŞİKTAŞ
Most of you would probably be familiar with Beşiktaş as the football club that harbored the exits of players like Pepe and Demba Ba from Real Madrid and Chelsea- but that's not the sole reason as to why this particular district in Istanbul is a definite item on your list of sightseeing sceneries once you visit former Constantinople.
It's a no-brainer that Istanbul is one of the most scenic sights to fall in love in, if you're lucky enough that is. Imagine an already painted canvas for a romantic tale to narrate when you truly want to reminisce a travel, with the right kind of feelings.
Beşiktaş, and Istanbul itself, encapsulate the magnificent architectures of the Ottoman Empire; the grace and elegance of these designs are preserved in mosques, castles, forts and other visions of a reigning empire.
However, these obvious attractions aren't the only sights you'll be gravitating towards once you're strolling on the seaside district.
Let evening set perfectly in place, when the sky is lavender and the street lights are blaring; Thats when you want to step out to truly capture the funk that resides in Istanbul's more artificial lights.
Right opposite the cobblestone roads that lead to Nişantaşı lie the walls with contemporary colours and catchphrases that can make for a great, retro addition to your instagram profiles, and beginner Turkish.
Naber? (What's up)- I think I took this one a little too literally and started to look up to ponder on what is actually up.
These wings particularly caught my eye- They were the impeccable amount of colour against the white walls and structures along the street.
Bear in mind you'll be crossing the street quite a lot to capture what's on both opposing ends- Neon on the other.
This neon is a perfect celebration of the parallel existence Istanbul's nightlife possesses. Apart from people's spirits, the lights keep things in the after-hours well ignited for a magical experience of an 'avant-garde' existence.
The signs have a very Tumblresque aesthetic to them- only fair since the city and its people are battling through the identity labels upon them.
Particularly this one- Positive scandal? Indeed, Istanbul is fairly scandalous for whatever it harbors during lunar hours. In a completely 'positive' way obviously. Foreigners love this city, and once you've settled down here and tasted the waters, you too would regret to part your ways.
It's a no-brainer that Istanbul is one of the most scenic sights to fall in love in, if you're lucky enough that is. Imagine an already painted canvas for a romantic tale to narrate when you truly want to reminisce a travel, with the right kind of feelings.
The signs in the city also try to project the same idea. The air in the city is definitely magical, and it's possibly because of the amount of love or ask, cemented into the cobble stone streets.
This particular sign in all my understanding is a tribute to the progression of film and graphics, both of which have been raging factors in shaping different perspectives of people about modern day Constantinople.
(I could severely be wrong, maybe someone tried to fit in their King Kong reference as best as they could), but it counts for a whole lot of funk and retro, nonetheless.
